breaking in

It was the middle of the night when the young man approached one of the largest houses in palet town the home of professor oak. He breathed slowly this was a situation that needed to be handled with care the boss wanted the new pokedex that Oak was working on and that meant he was the one with the assignment.

Markus was a handsome man but in all black with a red R it was hard to notice that fact. Everything about him screamed Team Rocket which was probably a good thing approaching the window he cracked it and slid into the libratory. So far so good now to just grab the new device and get out. Oak’s Lab he had studied the floor plans he was given and knew the basic lay out. his job was to get in grab the stuff he needed trash the place to halt oak’s research and then get out.

He dropped his pokebal a flash of white light temporarly lighting up the room as ekens formed “Ekens look out.” he whispered the pokemon seemed to acknowledge the command and went to the one of the shelves coiling its self around it to get up higher. While Markus began going threw papers and desks trying to find the new device.

Professor Oak had been working all day on a new and improved version of his ever famous invention - the PokeDex! He stirred when he heard something crack, but continued to sleep. A flash of light, though, startled him causing him to gasp slightly.

He blinked his eyes open when he heard the rustling of papers, and the sliding of desk drawers. Curious and a bit apprehensive, Professor Oak quietly stood from his own desk and walked towards the sound.

His eyes squinted at a silhouette dressed in black. The outfit looked vaguely familiar, and the professor retrieved a pokeball from his pocket.

"Hey you! Who are you and what are you doing here?!" He shouted at the man as he enlarged the pokeball and waited to summon his Charmander.

"Ah so the professor is here that helps out a lot actually Ekens get down here." actually this was the opisate of helping he wanted to break in and get out not get caught up in a battle with proffessore oak. still oak was a scientist and old for that fact he was out of practice Ekens would be an easy match for what ever that old man had on him.

"Now old man ill give you a chance, hand over the new pokedex or Ekens is gonna unleash a world of hurt really you saved me time i was planning on ruinning this lab any way." he stepped into the light showing his uniform "Team Rocket demands you hand over the pokedex and if you awnser nicly i may even leave without smashing to many of your computors."

"Team Rocket!" He gasped before throwing his pokeball in front of him and releasing a Charmander. "I should have known! Disbanded? What utter nonsense!"

Professor Oak glared at man who dare break into his lab, "Charmander, use Scratch!"

Markus smiled the team had disbanded but a few months ago the group had restarted under its new leader. of course he had never meet or seen the new leader only the executives had seen him, but that wasn't the problem the problem was the charmander in front of him. The Ekens was hit by the scratch but shook it off it was only a small hit he could take it. "Ekans wrap."

At his command the Ekans attempted to coil around the charmander. he would have it crush its spine. "Thats right Oak team rocket is back."

Professor Oak bit his lip in frustration. Wrap was an on-going attack and Charmander couldn't do anything about it... yet.

"Charmander, use growl!" He ordered his Pokemon.

That'll keep the damage low until Ekans gets tired and releases him. Professor Oak thought.

that was a good idea Oak was using growl to lessen the effects of his wrap but while Ekens had him he was free too attack. "Ekens poison sting." Markus gave a look of cold confidence the attack could poison the charmander not to mention it was still caught in his wrap there was a potential to deal out a lot of damagde even with the growl.

Ekens shivered slightly and then struck down with its fangs for a poison sting. it would follow its masters command, and take down this charmander.

Seeing the snake's coils starting to loosen around his Pokemon, Professor Oak took a step forward, "Now Charmander! While he's about to let you go, use Scratch again!"

Charmander gave a grunt and raised his arms to scratch at Ekans. Unfortunately Ekans was also still in range to launch his attack: Poison Sting. Ekans managed to land his attack on Charmander's shoulder.

"No, Charmander! Are you all right?"

His Pokemon could only nod once.

the hit was good the ekens was struck but he had struck back just as hard and the thing was poisoned. everything was going as planned but he would make Oak pay for this. "Ekens wrap!" Markus barked his orders and watched as the ekans again tried to coil the creature.

his mind briefly went to cheating and how he could simply unleash his rattata and take it down with two pokemon but this was funner the thing was poisoned and he was damned if he was gonna let up the attack.

"Quick, Charmander! Dodge his attack and try going for another Scratch." Professor Oak was worried about his Pokemon.

He was sure that Charmander was poisoned due to his slower movements. If the battle continued and the Team Rocket Grunt had another Pokemon under his belt the Professor wouldn't be able to save both his life's work and Pokemon.

Charmander stumbled as the Ekans's Wrap managed to coil around his legs. Trying to follow through his master's order, Charmander made a swipe at Ekans.

the blow connected with ekans and he was cut underneath what would be considered the snakes jaw. but he had a hold on him now and would slowly squeeze the life out of him. "thats it Ekens crush the charmander."

the ekans continued its attack and tried to crush the charmander. Markus smiled "you know you could have made this a hole lot easier on yourself."

Professor Oak could only watch in horror as his Charmander grew weaker and weaker. And even without his prompting, Charmander continued to scratch at Ekans.

This was becoming a nightmare. He didn't have any other Pokemon to use because two trainers came in earlier in the day to get their starter Pokemon so that only left him with Charmander.

One mans nightmare was anothers dream this couldn't be going better Ekans was getting hurt sure but who cared about that by this point the charmander would be in much worse shape then then the ekens. all Ekans had to do was keep up the strangle hold and it would all be over soon.

Ekans squeezed down tighter with every motion its body was being cut into but it didn't care it knew it had this match. and it would leave charmander crippled and broken. "Ekeeeenssss" it said its voice low and poisonous.

"Stop! Stop!" Professor Oak ran over to his Pokemon and tried to pull Ekans off of Charmander.

If Charmander didn't get help right away then he would have a hard time recovering and what not. He would not let this Pokemon die just because he wasn't going to give the information about his new PokeDex. It was going to be released to press next week anyways.

"Call him off now! Just let Charmander go."

"You heard the Man Ekens let the charmander go." he smiled polightly as he turned away. "And then use poison sting to make sure it faints."

The Ekens heard the first command disengadging from the charmander and then sprang on it bitting down on it one last time. Markus turned back and threw a punch as hard as he could towards the old scientest. "Tell your trainers... Team Rocket is back."

At first Professor Oak let out a sigh of relief as Ekans released Charmander. What he wasn't expecting was the second attack that rendered his Pokemon unconscious.

The professor turned to yell at the Team Rocket Grunt, "You-"

But before he could even finish the punch connected and he too was knocked unconscious.

Honestly what did Oak expect? it was Team rocket. "Ekens return." he said as he went and grabbed the files he wanted along with the new pokedex. he walked past Oak and unclipped the pokeball he had from his waist. and returned the charmander. he smiled the charmander was a rare enough pokemon that it might get him some notice.

before he left he made sure to smash the computer. it would take him a while to regain all his reserch like he said Oak could have made this a lot easier on himself. he left threw the front door and smiled "Mission Complete."

The next he woke up Professor Oak looked around to see his computer smashed and his precious Charmander gone. He looked to the broken window and saw that the sun was already shining, that meant that the perpetrator was already long gone.

He stood sullenly and immediately called Officer Jenny. Even though his computer was broken, Professor Oak had all his back up data in a secret vault in his bedroom. And he hoped that the Grunt would at least treat his Charmander correctly and with respect.
